Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Atrophic Dev. By signing in, you agree to them. If you don't, don't use the service.
Who we are
Atrophic Dev is the team building this service. In these terms, "Atrophic Dev", "we", "us", and "our" refer to that team. The project is pre-incorporation: no formal legal entity exists yet, and these terms will be updated when one is registered.
The service
Atrophic Dev is a coding-quest system currently in closed beta. The product is alpha software: features may change or break without notice, and data loss is possible. Sign in is invite-only via a GitHub allowlist.
Eligibility and account
- You must use your real GitHub identity to sign up. Don't impersonate someone else.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You're responsible for activity on your account, including the use of any API tokens you generate.
- Keep your API tokens private. Don't share them, don't commit them to public repositories.
Your content and intellectual property
You keep all rights to your code and other content you submit through Atrophic Dev. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your code to us.
You grant Atrophic Dev a limited, non-exclusive licence to process the content you submit solely for the purpose of operating the service — analysis, quest generation, world maps, progress tracking, and similar features. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, harass, or interfere with the service or other users.
- Scrape, mirror, or reverse-engineer the service to build a competing product.
- Use Atrophic Dev's OpenAI pipeline as a general-purpose LLM proxy or for purposes unrelated to coding quests.
- Submit illegal content, malware, or content you don't have the rights to.
- Attempt to access other users' accounts, data, or repositories without authorization.
- Bypass rate limits, access controls, or the GitHub allowlist.
Our intellectual property
Atrophic Dev's brand, app code, quest taxonomy, world-map structures, and documentation are ours. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond what's necessary to use the service.
Beta disclaimer and no warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the service will be available, accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Atrophic Dev's aggregate liability arising out of or related to your use of the service is capped at the greater of €100 or the total fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Atrophic Dev at any time and request account deletion by emailing privacy@atrophic.dev.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or if we discontinue the service.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Atrophic Dev is eventually incorporated. Until then, any dispute should be raised first by emailing privacy@atrophic.dev so we can try to resolve it directly.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to the email address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
